Players + Families

US/SC has been supporting soccer families in the United States since 2022. We have worked with top players and club across the country including Philadelphia Union, New York Red Bulls, FC Dallas, Orlando City, NYCFC and FC Cincinnati.

Player evaluations & development plans

I help players and families understand their strengths, weaknesses and long term position fit by reviewing game film and providing in-depth analysis on their physical, technical, tactical and mental profiles. I have worked with some of the top young players in the United States to help develop their game. I primarily work with U15 to U19 players.

Academy placement

The academy landscape in the United States is complicated, especially for families that have not gone through it before. I help families understand what level their kid is at and identify the best development environments for them to reach their goals. I work with top academies in the United States and can help players connect with academies that fit their skill level and ambition.

Agent referrals

The United States is an emerging market for soccer talent and agents are swarming players and families as early as the U15 level. The agent business can be scary, complicated and dirty. Selecting the right agent and the right agency is a critical decision for young players and their families. The first professional contract can make or break a player’s career.

I have made it my mission to understand the agent landscape so that I can credibly recommend agents that I trust and believe do the best job with young players.
As a parent of a player with professional aspirations we were searching for an expert within the US youth talent pool to provide an unbiased evaluation of our son's strengths and weaknesses. Marcus provided a comprehensive evaluation that clearly identified areas of focus on and off the field that will enhance our son's development along the academy pathway.  Marcus is an exceptional communicator and shows genuine interest in helping players reach their desired goals.

When our son Caleb came back stateside from playing at Hertha BSC, we were overwhelmed by the complexity of the US soccer academy system. When we met Marcus he shared his knowledge of the process and landscape of the US soccer academies. He has a genuine passion for the game and a heart to see US youth players thrive both nationally and internationally.

We wanted to find a scout with a clear view of the US talent pool to provide an objective player evaluation. We found Marcus through his online publications. He is an excellent communicator, responsive and easy to work with. He interviewed Copeland, selected a good sample of game film to review and provided thorough analysis with enough detail to identify areas of strength and areas of growth opportunity.
Tony Berkley
Copeland Berkley's Father (New York Red Bulls)
Marcus spent a tremendous amount of time asking questions and learning about our son so he could provide the appropriate platform for him to continue to elevate his soccer career. Marcus provided an exceptionally professional and in-depth scouting evaluation to help us understand our son’s strengths and weaknesses. He has delivered a tremendous network of contacts and has helped us learn the process and landscape for accessing Elite soccer academy programs.
Garrett Hofer
Carter Hofer's Father (Oakwood Soccer Club)
He spent time reviewing Caleb’s playing style, skill, position, personality and future goals and suggested a list of potential academies where he might thrive. His unassuming and friendly personality and in-depth unbiased understanding of the US soccer system made it easy to talk through the details of each club. Marcus also helped provide several contacts that were key for Caleb to get trials. Thankfully, Caleb performed well during his trials and secured a spot with a RBNY.
